Once again, Jensen Ackles gives a ‘knock it out of the ballpark’ outstanding performance...
...He[ Mitch Pileggi] and Ackles played extremely well off of each other....

..It is also the episode that shows us exactly to what extent Dean has been
pushed into the myth arc of the storyline. However in honesty as a viewer and a fan with a particular affection of Dean Winchester, I have some major
reservations about how this was done and what the ramifications will be for Dean and for Sam because of it....

I also have to mention an emotional scene between Dean and Mary, which was just amazing. I have to praise Jensen Ackles so much for his work on it. I think there is always a risk when two young actors play mother and son (or brother and sister) that it will come out as the wrong type of love, but not here. The relationship is clear, this is his mom, you just see in his eyes how much he loves her, but in the right way (if that makes sense). If you are not touched by Jensen Ackles’ performance, then you are made of stone. Definitely one of my favorite scenes in Supernatural.

40 seconds of Sam...but damn if he scares me him right now. The worst Sam I have seen in 3 seasons.

I loved Dean and John talking about the Impala. Everytime they do something like this in the show you can see how much Dean has loved his father and how much he still suffers for having lost him.

BEST LINE EVER!: "Sammy wherever you are...Mom is a babe. I'm going to Hell...again".

Oh wow Mary is strong...she is a hunter??? This is something I really
have never thought of before. Btw I really like the actress who played
her.
Oh Dean...the scene between and Mary was heartbreaking. The way Dean loves his mother, how much he misses her. It's like anything is comparable to it. It's a hole Dean has in his heart. What Mary said about John, about her, about her children...every single word was like stabbing Dean straight into the heart. Mary's dreams were destroyed the night she died. John turned in a hunter. He turned his children into two disfuctional, screwed guys that now have to face some Apoclaypse.
When Dean warned her about that night, I think he knew it was useless. I think he wanted to believe but he knew, knew it's not going to happen.

Jensen??? Jensen cries and plays this kind of emotional stuff with so much grace you just have to stare at him and appreciate how good he is. Because he is good.

Castiel and Dean...they always shine together. Castiel can be cruel though. When he told Dean Sam was not looking for him as if he was trying to open Dean's eyes. To make him see Sam is different now.
He is cruel because he tells Dean if he makes a choice, there are consenquences. He has sent Dean back with a purpose and at the same time he tells him that other people are gonna die if Dean saves is family.
What does Castiel really want?
I loved that at end it was clear that Castiel didn't send Dean back to change the future. He sent him back to let him know the truth.
Probably Castiel destroyed the idea Dean had of his family, but it had to be done.

Dean missed the shot, he didn't save his family. The YED didnt die.
Now we know why Mary knew him.

Dean and the YED? That scene was made of awesome.

So well I think both Dean girls and Sam girls should stop whining all
the time. Dean has his role and it implies a lot more responsability due to the scenario. The war between good and evil adds a new meaning
to the fight that the boys will face.
Sam, on the other hand, is the other face of the mythology. His storyline will be addressed and the brotherly dynamics will be affected a lot by his actions.
I really don't see Sam being more important than Dean or viceversa.
I also think their destiny has been settled the day Mary made the
deal. From that moment they didn't have any chance to have a different life.

I am not a fan of a brother vs brother thing, but I guess this is the
best road the show can follow. Angst and fights will be intense and heartbreaking.

I have some more considerations:
-Dean has just come back from Hell. He has to deal with the aftermath. Castiel dropped a bomb on him again because I guess there's no time. How will Dean deal with everything? Isn't it too much even for him?
The way he is broken, yet he has to be strong, makes me hurt for him. He has so much on his shoulders right now. I just hope he resists.

-Castiel made it clear that they can kill Sam ( or stop the endgame) whenever they want, but they don't want...not yet. I think they wanted to give Dean the chance to use his own power to save his brother. Yes, once again, the love Dean feels for Sam. Hope it's enough.

-I think the reason I didn't miss Sam in this episode was all in those first 40 seconds. That Sam is the one that will cost Dean his life, no matter if Dean will really die or if he will be emotionally dead.

Btw I am sure the boys will find a way to be brothers again, but things will get a lot worse before they could eventually get better.

Some more thoughts about the mythology and the boys.
I adore Dean. I wish he could live forever but I think the end that fits him more, that gives him justice is going away in a blaze of glory. Yeah like the boys said :)
I know some of you are upset because with the episode they have the feeling that Dean's life is doomed. It is. It has always been. Mary caused it.
Same goes for Sam. I have never thought there would have been a happy end for the Winchesters and I don't see it now.
Does Dean live for Sam? Does Sam and Dean cause each other death? Probably. Is Dean wasting his life? No. He doesn't have a choice. Sure he could quit. He could start it all over again, but as Mary's story told us, you can't escape your destiny.
Dean has to live his life as a hunter and work for God in order to win this war. He didn't choose his destiny, as Sam didn't. They are stuck in the middle of it and the only thing they can do is trying hard, using all their qualities, to get the best from it.
They had the choice. they both questioned their life. They both decided their own life was following their father. Now they just have to fully embrace it and play the game till the very end. Doesn't matter what it costs.

Of course I regretted these words the minute after I posted them...I don't want Dean dying :)))
No seriously, maybe the destiny is using the free will. Fighting the good fight and changing things meanwhile.
The Apocalyose seems to be the destiny, but we sure don't know how they boys will face it. I'm sure they will be able to make the right choices and to win their own personal battles.

Oh and just the last thing...right now I think Sam needs Dean much more than Dean needs Sam. They don't know yet :)
