YOu know I rewatched the episode today and being more detached I could see the flaws it had.
I loved that the boys talked and fought. I think I watch SPN basically for these moments but I think the task the writers have this year is even more difficoult than they had in the previous season.
They have time but they have 3 storylines to address and this can be complicated.
I mean, Dean's storyline, Sam's storyline and the Apocalypse. Of course they are all connected but find a balance must give them a headache.

I love love love this season but while I want them to show Sam's pain when he was without Dean and his personal hell now that he has to face who he is, I don't want them to neglect what Dean had been through.
So far we have seen Dean dealing with the aftermath of Castiel revelations and somehow he's doing pretty well. I want him to remember Hell, I want the writers to point out that being sent to Hell is terrible. Honestly? It's the worst thing that could happen to a human being. So far, they haven't showed how much painful and horrible it must have been. I think they have to.
I hope they will.

Hi:) I saw your review and just wanted to say that I agree. It seems like neither brother has really dealt with Dean's time in Hell. I'm half looking forward to and half dreading when they do. Bromanctic angst to the maximum (I hope).

You can't send someone to the worst thing that can happen to you ever and not let us see other than flashes of fear in his eyes and noises. We need to see what he really went through. Not dismiss it as a bad holiday where you lost you luggage.

Not to belittle Sam's own troubles and pain, but Jeez, HELL! Hello, I think that out does Sam's hunting alone (which he didn't have to do, he had Bobby) He chose to leave and go off with Ruby. He chose to break his promises to dead Dean. So I don't have much sympathy for him.

Dean was in Hell and I want the writers to show that Dean suffered through something torturous and beyond imagination and let Sam find that out. As it stands, Sam just thinks cause Dean can't remember all's good. Dean hasn't suffered at all

Oh, hon, i agree but just remember - there was not enough time yet for Dean to start to remembering things - it's only a week (with 404 - a little more) passed after Dean was yanked from the hell and he already had some nightmares - i think the timing is right so far.

I totally agree! And they doing good for now using amnesia for Dean cos if he'd remember all that hell time i'm afraid he'd be devastated.

But being in hell is torture of level we can't imagine and having demon's blood is more like moral problem and no physical torture there so we can't even start to compare them. Hell is hell cos nothing can compare with it otherwise it wouldn't be call hell.
