Meryl Streep won a deserved Oscar. I was impressed with her Tatchter performace. I am also happy for Mr. Plummer. A very talented actor.

The Artist won the major oscars...I have seen it. As much as I am not a fan of French cinema, I did really enjoyed it and Jean Dujardin was very good at it.

But I am sure, now even more than before, that Oscars are not about the best actors/movies/actresses. The winners are always the ones that is expected to win. There are a lot of actors, even very popular, who have never won and mots likely will never win.

The most famous example is Paul Newman. He was one of the best actor around and he did win with a not stellar performance...it was like the Academy felt it was about time he won.

So yeah, I don't care much about the Oscars!

I am in agreement with you about the Oscars all the way. (Same goes for Globes & Emmy's). I also think that nominees and winners are very much a popularity contest. I haven't seen any of the movies nominated, so can't speak from knowledge, but the flavor of the year seems to be George Clooney and Brad Pitt, who are good actors, but nominee worthy? Not sure. Like I said, never saw their movies so I am only speaking from past movies of theirs that I have seen and always thought they were good, but there are actors out there far more deserving.

Good case in point about Paul Newman. Another actor that I think has been deserving to win is Leo DiCaprio. He has been nominated numerous times, but has yet to win. That guy is so very very good and is so deserving of a win, but never seems to get it. I turned off of the Oscars the year that 'Shakespeare in Love' won Best Picture over 'Saving Private Ryan'. Haven't watched them now in years and just don't miss it at all, and frankly don't care all that much either.

I totally agree with you about Di Caprio. He has grown up so much as an actor that he totally deserves an Oscar.

Also Tom Cruise would deserve an Oscar imo. He has done some very excellent performances.

As much as I loved the 'The King's Speech' last year, I think Inception should have won the Oscar as Best Picure because it was the idea that should have been rewarded. And Inception was a wonderful idea imo.

Anyway yes, I don't care much. I just enjoy my movies.

Heee, thanks for letting me know who won Oscar this time. Last year i was interested in nominees and watched it live. Now? I didn't even remember it was today. Glad i didn't spend any of my time on that show.
