HAPPY WEEKEND and HAPPY SUPERNATURAL DAY!!!

I LOVED the second episode, seriously loved it.

Gifs thanks to this TUMBLR

Long ramblings under the cut. I wrote only the good things.

Let's try to do this character by character:

Tyler/Carol- Caroline/Bill

-I am not much interested in the Locwoods lives but I have to say that I liked a lot how everything came clean. I appreciated to see Tyler acting like an adult and responsible person. He showed his mom who he really was and why she was so terribly wrong about Caroline. He could have just left, but he not only stayed, he wanted to be totally honest. Mister Tyler Lockwood has gained a lot of points in my personal top ten :)
I also loved how Carol reacted the morning after. She was a mother. She did what a mother should always do.

-I was totally unspoiled about Bill so it was a surprise for me to find out that he was Caroline's father. I liked Caroline's reaction. I am curious about them now.

-Jeremy/Matt
Still can't feel anything about that storyline. I had tender feelings for Matt because seriously that guy was so screwed...I want to see how this storyline is going to develop. Not much to say about it so far.

-Klaus
I enjoyed Klaus in this episode. Probably because it was the first time that we saw him vulnerable. I also felt a little bit symphatetic towards him. I mean he spent all his life to break the curse and build up an army and it's not working. He just killed a bunch of people and the only person left around him is Stefan. At the end of the day Klaus is alone and probably none loves or just cares about him. Sad, isn't it?
It's also interesting that the ritual didn't work out because Elena is still alive. how long will it take before he goes after Elena again?

-Elena
I have mixed feelings about Elena.
She is focused on Stefan and only Stefan. She doesn't think about the consequences of her actions. She doesn't care if she puts in danger her friends life. She doesn't care about the fact that Klaus doesn't know she is alive and that probably this is also why stefan is sticking with him. To protect her. She seems unable to realize how many people love her and how much her actions are dangerous for them. She doesn't even care that Stefan is a killer now. She was ready to blame Damon for everything bad he had done and she is not able to see Stefan for who he really is. I am not saying that Stefan is bad. I am saying that Stefan has the same dark side that Damon has. What bothers me is that Elena keeps ignoring it. I have to say that at least she was able to scratch the surface with Damon and see him in his entirety.
That being said, I understand all her reasons and can't really blame her. I actually enjoy to see a female character so brave and resolute.
Elena is a living contradiction, but this makes her so much interesting and with so many layers to discover episode by episode.

-Stefan
Mixed feelings for him too. Still pissed off because he killed Andie without any real reason.
I like Ripper!Stefan. Bringing out his darkest feelings and desires, in opposition to his strong willing to live a perfect life where he is the good hero, makes Stefan a more compelling character. I want more of his dark side. I want to see the real Stefan, with all his dirty secrets and thoughts. You know when he was bitten, I thought that he could have decided to die, but I saw the fear in his eyes when Klaus did not save him immediately. Stefan, who knows he can't stop, because he lives an eternal fight between his two sides, was actually scared to die. Even if I think Stefan is a selfish bastard who pretends to be a martyr who wants to sacrifice himself in order to save the others, well I love Stefan. I love to see the contradictions in Stefan.

-Damon
Oh my boy. Again, I am so proud of him!
Why? Several reasons:
-no matter how much stupid and dangerous Elena's plans are, he is not going to leave her alone.
-he did change his mind and decided to give Stefan a second chance. I don't think Damon really needed Atefan to save him for changing his mind but I think he needed a trigger. Andie's death and the memories of Ripper!Stefan left Damon hopeless about Stefan's redemption, but now he has a new reason and new strength to deal with his brother.
-the last scene with Elena. I am proud of how much he has grown up and is able to deal with his feelings better. He loves Elena, he knows she feels something for him. He is not going to ignore it. He is not pushing her, he is just demanding for some honesty from her. He will fight for his love, but he is not going to play games now that Stefan is not around.
Damon is not the Damon in love with Kath anymore. That was obsession. This is love. It's good and it's healthy.

-Damon/Alaric
Awww those two...I love their camaraderie so much. They love to be around each other and I love to see them together.
That "brother" Damon said was so perfect to point out that Rick relies on Damon and can't hide things from him when it comes to Elena and Stefan.

-Damon/Stefan
Even in his darkest time, Stefan is not willing to let Damon die. Can I ask for more? I know, I could ask for some real apology, but it's not the right time for it. Those two brothers love each other and they are the only thing left to each other. They are immortal, they are alone. Not in this lifetime, but they are.
Keep going the brotherhood boys :)

-Damon/Elena
Seriously, they want to turn me in a hardcore shipper! NINA AND IAN HAVE THE MOST AWESOME CHEMISTRY I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME!
So many moments between them. From the beginning to the end, Elena/Damon was there.
I loved when Damon got into the water, their body language, the tension growing up, Damon saying that they had to go away and then surrender, accepting to stay there.
I loved Elena yelling that they had to run immediately because it was full moon and they wre all in danger, especially Damon.
I loved the scene by the car, with Elena worried, then relieved to see Damon safe and alive. I love how Damon deflected from that too intimate moment.
I loved the end. That was so much in those last words Damon said. It was not about him, his desires, his feelings. It was about Elena, about giving her the time to realize what she feels. It's telling to the woman you love that you are not going to take advantage of the situation. It's playing fair, be honest and to demand honesty.
This is what Damon did in that scene. He just asked her to look inside herself and be honest. He will drag his brother back and they could not just be back to their previous lives because things have changed, feelings have changed.
I love how this triangle is developing, Damon's feelings linger over Stefan/Elena and it's something everyone is well aware of. None can ignore it.

Catching up with you all soon :)
