512, when Val fangirls about THE PRETTY

x5valeFew things I noticed since I have not much to say on this episode:
-I like Jared when he plays comedy, more than when he plays anything else.
-I loved the little tidbits about John and how much he loved his boys. I wish they could get some more time with their dad.
-Was Dean thinking about his life when he asked Sam about having a family? I think Dean knows he won't ever have it but at the same time, he would like to. *sighs*
-Oh Sam, must have been horrible to find out he wasn't in his body anymore.
-Dean he should have understood immediately it was not Sam...Sam would have never said those things, not now...sadly. Even if it was just a "I'm sorry" because he didn't pick up the phone. It's sad, it was stated once again, even if in a subtle way, that none in Dean's family did never say nice things to him.
-Poor Impala.
-Gary was scary.
-I liked Sam with Gary's family.
-Dean with Gary!Sam cracked me up...his facial expressions.
-Music again!!!
-"Sam?..You ok?", Dean is and will always be Sam's big brother.
-Demons want Dean dead. What a surprise! I think they should have addressed it in the plot a little more.
-Dean punching Gary, you can't fool Dean Winchester for so long!
-Dean and Latin makes Val happy; Hurt!Dean and Latin makes Val even happier. LIIIIIPS!
-Loved the little speech Dean and then Sam gave to Gary.
-Also the lines about missing or not missing the family life, I guess it tells something about how the boys feel now.
-JENSEN WAS SUPERHOT in this episode! No really...LIIIIIPPPPPSSSSS...
Classic standalone, nothing special. I still wonder what's the point in episodes like this one now.
Anyway, I loved the facial expressions the boys made and the interaction with the teen- agers.
I also liked how Dean came to understand he wasn't Sam putting all the pieces together. I don't think they played Dean dumb as someome said.
There was a contradiction in what the demon said about the Boss. Lucifer himself said he needs Sam's anger to get his body, so what's the point?
Plus...boys you seriously need to talk, because you are so so so distant it's not even funny.
Can I have the Apocalypse now???

If he can't kill Dean (i like it :)) ) then how will all other demons succeed taking a bounty on Dean?
I think it was just a lazy writing with the author clearly never reading what was written before her. But again we talk aboiut Siege here so no hope.

OMG the THE PRETTY!!! Just OMG!!! LIIIIPPPPPSSS!!!! :D
I won't be popular for it but I agree with you on the Jared and comedy comment, though he can over play it sometimes, but that's more about his style than any lack of skill. He definitely does comedy well. Some of my fav epis of him are the comedic ones.
This one just made me sad when I wasn't drool over pretty hurt!Dean! (I'm so shallow! *hangs head in shame*) As you said this episode just highlighted for me how distant the guys are. The blatant longing in Dean for his slice of normal is just so painful. In true Kripke style the have done the roll reverse with Sam swearing off the apple pie life as they are freaks and it's not for them and Dean desperately longing for the normal that everyone else has and he can't. It just breaks my heart when they show Dean's longing like that. Jensen is so good at playing the understated so that it is right there in your face without the big showing emotional scenes, just awesome.
Though, to be honest it was all a bit hoe hum because as you said there is so much bigger stuff going on behind the scenes, let's get back to the damn apocalypse already! I know they are on a limited budget so can't do the big stuff all the time, but seriously 2 episodes ago Lucifer raised Death, the grim reaper, what the hell is going on with him?!?!
Don't get me wrong I LOVE getting the little glimpses of life as a weechester, but seriously how can you expect me to be totally satisfied with a filler episode when it's the middle of the damn apocalypse!
I really hope they explore the Demon Dean hunt further, that will really fulfill my hurt!Dean kink I'm sure! LOL!
Anyway, I still enjoyed it, but it will only get rewatched for the yummy PRETTY factor, not the epi itself.

No, he said he'd need that anger once he was in there, I think.
And it's really sad how little Dean knows Sam now, and vice versa. But I THINK they're getting closer. They're better now than a few months ago, anyway.

This is the very first time when I say that I thought it was bad, or didn't work more likely. I tried to look beyond it though, but this will forever stay one of the least favorite episodes. :-(
That said, it still had it's good moments and like you said, hot Dean, but I need to rewatch.

I think it would get pretty serious and very heavy if they didn't do some lighthearted episodes, but even those can get serious.
