I thought Dean was whispering on account of he didn’t want to wake Sam, but rumor has it that Ackles had a very bad sore throat, bordering on laryngitis, so I’m like, man. Talk about soldiering on through a very difficult condition!

I realize when Jensen is in a scene he attracts the best qualities of an
actor like a magnet (Jared being the best example), but he and newcomer Amy
Gumenick had something extraordinary between them.

I head about that too. But i can't place all that only on sore throat - i saw it as his choice in acting not just illness - it was (for me) that just two reason to talk like that were mixed.

Jensen will use whatever is at his disposal to enhance the performance. I figure that he was unwell during this one as you could hear his voice cut out on him from time to time when he did't intend it, but overall it just added to the performance. Poor bugger though, it can't be fun to do Dean's low rumble with a scratchy throat, that's got to suck!

I think that Jensen's acting is just amazing this season. I mean I love it at anytime, but this season he hasn't miss a mark by even a fraction and that's showing by how many are noticing.

Exciting times for our boy! :D

It isn't a rumor, I know because I am the source of this information. I posted to the Yahoo group I moderate 'superntural on the WB'.

If you notice Jensen was on the verge of losing his voice in many scenes in the episode including his scenes with Meg.
