The episode
Classic SPN episode. Researches, disguises, investigations. The boys and Bobby.
I like the idea of people who can't dream and the reasons behind this and I also like the idea of someone trapped into a dream. I have always been very fascinated by the dream world.
I love when the boys are so professional and show all their skills. They still are among the best hunters, even if they have to ask Bela a favour.
I loved the scene with her and the boys. Sam really likes her, doesn't he? And Dean? I guess he'd like to kill her off, and now I think he supsects his brother has a crush on her.
The dreams
Scary! Not the dream itself, the fact of being in someone else's head.
I was wondering, is it a coincidence that where Dean was everything was dark and where Sam was, outside the house, everything was so bright and colorful?
I mean it's clear why inside Bobby's house there must be dark and death, but is it somehow connected to Dean's destiny?
Does it mean Dean has a dark future that is waiting for him?
When Dean realized he drunk the same beer Bobby did, Sam was right to be angry at him. And wow Dean is so nervous...lack of sleeping affects him a lot.I did appreciate that Sam followed his brother and I found poignant that Dean didn't want him around his head.
He dreamt of Lisa, again, he dreamt about a normal life, a woman to love. This is heartbreaking, isn't it?
Then she vanished and Dean was alone with his fears and nightmares. I loved how they separeted the boys and the music they used for the scene in the wood.
So Dean is seeing himself...oh man...so so painful. Every issues Dean has, has been addressed. He doesn't want to face them, he wants to wake up because he knows that what his alter ego is telling him is true. His fears are all there, John not caring about him, John thinking Sam was better than him, his family not needing him, failing to protect Sam...again, after The YED, they are again smashed in his face.
But this is not the truth, Dean needs to face them and understands that his fears are not the reality.Sure, John screwed with him, didn't show him how much he cared, but he did and Dean exists because he deserves to, not only because there is Sam to save. Dean needs to grow up and realize that his life is worth because the world is a better place thanks to him.
Because with his job, he saved people, because he gifted Cassie with his love, because his life is necessary.
Did the fight against himself mean that he is realizing this? When he said he was always there for Sam and that he didn't deserve to go to hell, does it mean Dean is now ready to actually live to save himself?
And as a perfect nemesis, demon!Dean appeared and told him he couldn't escape his destiny. Dean's is at his turning point...he has to change now, or he will never do it...he will never save himself.
At the end, he told Sam the truth. He told Sam what Sam needed to hear. Now if this strike had never existed, we would have had some very rocking episodes, I'm sure.
Bobby and the boys.
Dean is so worried about Bobby, he really considers him like another father. When he told Sam they could enter in Bobby's head to save him and Sam hesitated, Dean reminded him immediately that it ws Bobby, not a stranger. Sam did agree.
Even asking a favor to Bela, was something they were ready to do.Bobby really means a lot for the boys.
I love the guy and he suffered a lot. I think every hunter had to kill someone he cared about. Or suffering from the death of a beloved one.
Oh I wasn't expecting that moment between the brothers so soon.
Sam is so desperate, so full of pain and at this point he has given up.I think Trys is right when she says this is the middle season and that it's normal to have this attitude right now.
Sam is tired and resigned, he needs to see Dean reacting, he needs some hope. I think Dean has to give him hope. Only Dean can give Sam the strenght he needs.
Sam asked for it in that bar, he did. Now it's Dean's turn. He needs to fight, he has to for himself and his brother.
Hopefully those last words Dean told him, will help both.
I wonder, Sam knows what Dean will become, how? Did Dean tell him about his conversation with Ruby? I doubt it.
That's all for now.
Later with picspam and more thoughts.

DemonDean and Dean.
I loved him! He was scaryand tragic, because he represents everything Dean fears.
I think he would be a very powerful demon. Being so good in his human life, on the contrary he could become really evil as a demon.
If we consider all the pain and the frustation Dean is feeling, I can so see this happening.
