HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN JAN :)))
Things I liked:
-The recap, Jo and Ellen...*misses them*.
-The boys and the doctor. It was funny to see the boys telling the truth and the doctor watching them in disbelief;
-High!Sam ;) Oh Dean...
-The boys and the nurse;
-"You can't just keep this crap in", I am happy they addressed Jo and Ellen's death even if only with a single line;
-Dean doing "Hannibal";
-Sam checking the dead man's brain;
-"crazy works", I think I am in love with Crazy!Dean :)))
-Sam in action and then high: "'cos you are my brother and I still love you..bop". It is supposed to be an awesome brotherly moment but it made me laugh so much.
-angry!Dean;
-Dean understanding what was going on, even if in a weak mental condition;
-the last scene;
I was happy to have the boys back. The episode was good, there was action and angst. Really a good episode where almost anything was left off.
Kripke mentioned a lot of things in thie episode:
-The Apocalypse and how they boys relate to it.
-Ellen and Jo death and how it affected the boys.
-Dean and Sam relationship.
-Dean's relationship with his father.
-Dean's drinking problem.
-Dean's guilt feelings.
-Sam's anger.
-Sam's guilt feelings.
-Dean philosophy: "save the world first, personal issues later (or never)", I guess that's why he told Sam to bury his owns. It's not the right time to think about themselves.
-Kripke pointed out that Dean is guilty as much as Sam in the SPN tale. This will make fandom happy :)
I really liked the interaction between Dean and the doctor. How he told her the truth. He actually opened up to her and he talked about the burden he carries: saving the world, the fear of failing, what gives him the strenght of carrying on.
It doesn't mind she was a monster or his conscience,it was just good to see Dean talking about and to himself again.
Dean was all there, I bet he is scared as hell he can fail and let people die. He already feels guilty for what had happened in the past. He is so obsessed with monsters and demons to see them eveywhere. How it was supposed to live like that?
The doc was Dean's conscience or really some kind of trick the monster was playing on him? I like to think it's the first option, but I can take the second too. I mean, I like to think she poisened him and his conscience started to talk to him. Anyway the very important thing for me it's that they finally addressed some personal issues.
I am glad he did, because all these issues deserve to be explored more. They are functional to the characters development and, imo, to fix them, if this is still possible.
It was sad to see the old hunter so defeated. Is it where their job lead them? To lose it and then feeling useless (as Bobby feels too?). I hope for a better future for our boys.
It was also good to see addressed Sam's biggest problem: anger. Sam is not able to control it. When his mind tricked him, making him feel responsible for everything, he became violent again. It was so painful to watch. Even more painful was to watch Dean so vulnerable and still. Thinking of getting crazy.
Of course there is an explanation, the monster is the maker of that scenario, but the boys actually lived it and they actually dealt with their deepest fears. It was scary. More than any other supernatural thing I have seen on the show so far.
I loved the end. Issues are emerging and they will not able to ignore them in the future. No matter how much they will try (especially Dean because he wants to save the world first).
I wonder how much hard must have been for Jensen playing crazy!Dean. He did a great job. I liked Jared too.
I won't be much online today, because I have to go to the police station. They found the guy who hit my car and ran last November and they want to try a reconciliation. If he admits his responsibility, I am willing to proceed with the withdrawal of the legal action.
