I definitely am thankful to Kripke for the show itself and the beautifully rich characters he helped develop.

I do think he didn't actually get to finish it how he wanted to and I think imho that this is why the finale felt so much like Kripke's FU to the fandom. I don't really blame him for needing to do that, he copped a heap of crap from the fandom all the while battling with the studio to maintain the show how he originally saw it. I'm just more sad for Kripke that after 5 years he ended up quite bitter. Well at least that's how it came across to me anyway.

I always be very thankful for having Dean, but the Dean we have now is not just from Kripke, he is the product of the entire crew and Jensen. Yes, Kripke was show runner, but there were so many others that turned Dean into the character we now love. I just don't think all the thanks for Dean should go to Kripke cause for me he was only a part of developing him. But that's just my opinion and it's probably cause I'm one of those annoying people that always sees the team of people that creates something great (right down to the PA that got the coffee just right each morning) not just the main figure head.
