We definitely did get a glimpse as to what Dean went through in Purgatory. I loved that first scene where Dean and Benny are fighting back to back and the monsters just keep coming and they show Dean grabbing Benny's coat. That, to me, says it all right there about the friendship and bond these two developed over the course of that year.

I also have and feel great empathy for Benny. He felt his humanity flowing through him again because of the love for a woman, and now he is torn between two worlds that he feel he can't have. You are right, he never wanted to be a monster, hints back to last week's episode, and now he is just trying to figure out what is next. Given that Benny didn't go along with Andrea and want that life again gave me high hopes that Benny will stay strong and not let Dean down.

I didn't care for angry Sam either. I hadn't thought of him being worried over not being able to reach Dean as a panic that he might lose Dean again. But like I pointed out in my own review, I thought Sam's indignation about him being angry with Dean going into a vamp's nest alone is uncalled for. Sam wants normal and has told him that he can still hunt on his own, so here Dean is supposedly hunting on his own and Sam gets all up in Dean's case. You know Sam, you can't freak out over it now, when that is what you are pushing for your brother to do anyway. What will you do when you are living your normal life and Dean is in a vamp's nest again? I don't like that.

We will finally get the blow-up with the brothers next week. Oh wow! That aims to be epic. I also think I remember them saying at a Con or in an interview somewhere that Dean and Sam have another really good knock-down, drag out fight. Given as we saw one of the boys throw a punch, I wonder if that is this next episode.
