I'm still in shock from that finale! *thud* I knew Ric was going to die, and even though Damon in that moment knew his dying meant that Elena was dying/dead, I'm still satisfied that Ric had his last moments with his "friend" and died in his arms.

The producers really hedged their bets with Ric showing up as a ghost and telling Jeremy he'd be sticking around to watch over him. That gives them the option of having Ric return, which is great, though it won't be the same. *sob*

So, okay, it was clever for Bonnie to hide Klaus inside Tyler. But with Klaus's body having burned up, it's so not the same. Either get rid of Klaus or bring Joseph back! I was expecting it to be some kind of a witch illusion, and that Klaus's body wasn't really there. But I don't know, they really made it look like it was destroyed. *nervous*

I do love how the mayor and the sheriff pulled the mom card out and cared more about protecting their children than anything else.

Elena's choice was predictable and safe, even if she tried to make it seem like it was about some grand love. But what a twist to discover it was Damon she met first.

Of course, the BIG twist is that there was no reason for her to choose in the first place - she's going to become a vampire! I heard that Elena does become a vamp in the books, but I really didn't expect it to happen before the end of the series. This is really a game-changer.

Oh, Elena, you're going to discover that eternity with the same guy is going to get old! LOL! No sense being a vampire and not allowing yourself the chance to play the field. ;)

It'll be interesting to see how they differentiate between Elena the vamp and Katherine the vamp.

I'm glad it was Meredith in trying to save Elena who was responsible for Elena turning, and not Damon or someone like that. So if she's going to blame anyone, it's disposable Meredith, which is better than it being either of the Salvatores.

Pins and needles until next year!
