TVD DO NOT GO GENTLE: where I'd like to slap Bonnie and cuddle my favorite bromance forever!

Yesterday has been Gaia's bday and I spent the whole day in med due to a horrible headache. I have never had something like that in all my life.
I feel better though and maybe tomorrow we could celebrate my bday by the sea as we planned :)

Onto TVD...the review will be shorter this time.

-"Damon I"....uncomfortable position Stefan, isn't it? But I see the brotherly love :)

-Damon and Meredith, I like them together.

-I hate Esher. I do with all my heart. She is crazy, she is obsessed. She is arrogant, like all the witches.

-I love Matt. He is awesome.

-Every time I want to feel something for Bonnie, she said something that makes me dislike her.Her "holier than though" attitude is annoying.

-Dear Klaus, the Salvatores bond is unbreakable and if yours with your siblings is not, it's just because of you. It's all your fault.

-If Ric is going to die in the finale, wouldn't it be a surprise, would it be?

-Ric saying that Damon would have taken care of thw whole thing broke my heart. It's Damon, always.

-OMG the scene with all of them standing and then Ric...*cries*

-Oh Klaus...you are so scrwed up...*cuddles you*

-Jeremy and Matt FTW!

-OMG Damon...I can't even...seriously how come that this guy has to suffer and has to be taken away everything he loves? Wyt do the wtiters enjoy to torture him and not give him some kind of comfort?

-Bonnie, you stupid witch...

My quick take on the three biggest ships (even though I couldn't care less about them in this episode):

Caroline/Klaus.
They have chemistry, but as Klaus said, she is not ready...not even close to be ready.

Stefan/Elena.
Sorry, I haven't any feeling from the two of them. I just loved Stefan, Elena a lot whole less. But she was looking for comfort and who better than Stefan could give her? I saw people mad at thiss scene because they felt like Delena has no hopes. I disagree, because I didn't see Elena as in love with Stefan. i just saw how easier it was for her to embrace her old feelings. She feels safe with Stefan. She can't with Damon. Not yet.

Damon/Elena
It baffles me how they can ignore something like what happened in 3.19 and even not letting them close about the whole Ric situation.
Actually I am happy it was about Damon and Ric and that Damon had his moment with his friend. Still I think that story wise, a little bt more interaction would have been fair.

Two things I disliked:
-Caroline...she isn't the character I used to love so much anymore. I can't even explain why, it's just a feeling.
-Would have been nice to hear Ric apologizing to Damon too.

Oh and you know if Elena does not choose Damon(which is something I truly believe), I won't even care much because Damon deserves better than her. He just has to realize it.

I am sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well. Hoping here that you recover completely so you can celebrate your birthday properly! A day by the sea sounds wonderful! :)

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. HOpe it passes soon! Get well.

I also HATE Esther, the mom. She totally destroys the show. Don't care for her characterization, her arrogance, her "know-it-all" attitude. Last night she really truly bugged the heck out of me.

Loved the moments between Damon and Ric. That was very sweet, two friends saying goodbye. Not sure how I feel yet about Ric coming back all bad. I would have preferred him staying dead. And agree, Bonnie needs to get off her high horse.

I want Damon and Elena, but did see that Elena went to Stefan for the comfort. Stefan is her comfort blanket and she needed that, but yea, that kiss between her and Damon in the previous episode, how can you ignore that. She obviously has feelings and a huge attraction for Damon. How long does she think she can quash that before it gets the better of her.

Ah, feel better hon! *hugs* And happy birthday early!!! :D

Some TVD thoughts...ala from the email as requested. :)

Honestly, throughout this episode I kept wanting to get back to Damon and Alaric and Jeremy and Matt and, surprisingly, Meredith. I didn't care a lick about the others and just wanted them to go away. Actually I didn't mind Bonnie too much, but her 'romance' with Jamie is just awkward as was the stupidity of her going home and claiming her friends are her life etc. Otherwise I was pleased to see some character movement on her part, however small (ETA she needs to knock off the attitude with Damon tho because there really was no other choice. Appreciated the honesty there tho compared to her scenes with Stefan).

Caroline and Elena have both fallen apart in terms of character and I really couldn't stand them in this episode. I was gritting my teeth through Caroline's comments throughout this episode. I liked her character and how's she evolved until the second half of this season. Now I just want her to shut up. Plus side is it is a sign of Caroline's faults and moves her away from being a Mary Sue...but it depends on what the writers do with her character and whether or not her faults are ever addressed properly.

Some positives? JEREMY! DAMON! MATT!

Jeremy first. I LOVE having him back in town and how his presence changes the dynamics of things. I especially enjoyed his reaction to Damon informing them that Ric's alter ego was at the wheel and no longer controllable leading him to suggest killing him quickly and cleanly.

Personally, I think Jeremy's reaction was the most believable of the bunch and most understandable. He just as much as Elena has been reeling from the losses of his family and loved ones (ie Anna) and it makes sense that, given he always seemed closer to Ric then Elena, he would deny this course of action first. Speaking of Anna, I'm guessing we have her to thank for keeping Jeremy protected when he was dead with the ring on. Her mention of the powerful witch and how hard she worked to protect Jeremy from Vicki who listened to the witch makes me miss her more. Granted, that's just my speculation. Jeremy's reaction on the flipside could also have something to do with Esther's influence as she had on Ric and not wanting him dead subconsciously so he could complete his task. And Damon was indeed right and, this may be just me, but his argument with Damon had far more fire than anything he said to Elena in this episode. He just...came to life as it were and I really wish they had more interaction because there was a lot going on between them that got pushed aside for Caroline/Tyler, Stefan/Elena, even Bonnie/Jamie and I was NOT interested in any of those pairings at all.

Jeremy going to the Grill and getting a drink with Matt felt very in-character for me too, especially with the immense distance between him and Elena. Elena and him have a lot of issues that need to be addressed and the main one is the lies Elena tells her brother. I understand its to protect him but she has overstepped the line a few times now because she leaves Jeremy vulnerable like Jenna was left vulnerable by not knowing all the facts. Everyone has done this in Mystic Falls I know, but I'm just looking at the sibling bond between Elena and Jeremy here and saying its a big issue with them. Honestly, I think Jeremy has less issues with Damon because Damon may be a dick but he's always given it straight to Jeremy and owned his actions. Again, all just my opinion. Anyway, it made sense to me that Jeremy would go with Matt because Damon wasn't available since he was staying with Ric (note how Jeremy only said Damon was here when he came into the tomb where Ric and Elena were) and Matt knows what it means to have to be the 'man of the house'. Like with Elena earlier in the season, Matt is just very accepting and supportive and Elena can't provide that for Jeremy right now cause she's just as wrecked.

tbc...

Part 2

Speaking of Matt, I love how he actually followed Jeremy's lead and willingly backed him up when they went to rescue Elena from Esther. And his grounding presence throughout this episode was great I think. So much love for Matt and his continued awesomeness. His character growth has been great to see and I can only hope he survives this season, especially with Alaric now an Original Vampire brainwashed witch minion. =/

And Damon, oh Damon. While Ric has been a dick to him, I still loved their last scene together and the implications of more time spent together then we got to see and how well they actually know each other. Damon clearly knows Ric well because he was right about Ric preferring to die than continuing to kill and be ruled by his dark side. *sniffs* I'll be watching that scene over and over again, I know. Also, I'm glad Damon knew Elena asked Stefan to be her escort to the dance and didn't find out some other way, as awful as it was how he learned it. He is doing exactly what he told Elena he would do: he's not lashing out and its all on Elena to make a choice. I also rather enjoyed how Meredith, despite not caring for her too much as she hasn't been developed enough yet, spoke to Damon and how she listened and urged him to go join Ric. Yes, it SHOULD have been Elena but I do appreciate Meredith being there and the beginnings of a bond between them especially since Elena has pissed me off so much.

It also seems Damon is cementing his position as the resident Cassandra nobody listens to then blames after everything goes kaput like Dean. My poor guys!

Question: when did Elena turn into such a victim and become so stupid? In the first half of S3 she was really growing, getting tougher and proving to be quite smart. The last glimpse of that girl was when she escaped the ropes and tricked a compelled Jamie in 3.12. Since then its like she's just been foolish, impulsive, and often cruel/manipulative (not intentionally some of the time) to those around her, especially Damon. Now if its genuine character growth and she owns up to her mistakes and apologizes for them to the people she has hurt to their faces and makes attempts at changing etc its fine, but if not...*shakes head*

Just some thoughts and feelings on my part. Lovely review, as always, and some interesting thoughts on Stefan and Stefan/Elena. Hmm, I'll take those under consideration.

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you're better by tomorrow for your birthday haps. Happy Birthday, sweetie.

So, the episode ... gotta admit I was disappointed there wasn't more - or ANY - transition between what happened between Damon and Elena last week, and her going all gaga over taking Stefan to the dance. Oh, and STFU about Elena's choice, Caroline. Boy she really pissed me off last night. It finally dawned on me that Klaus is too good for her.

But this episode simply felt like Stefan's turn - like last week was Damon's, this week was Stefans's, with no overlapping of Elena's feelings for both. Not the writers' best maneuver. But it did confirm my feeling that Elena will choose Stefan at the end of the season. No real surprises here.

I'm also not happy that Ric was turned into the new Big Bad - and according to the interviews with Julie Plec, that's what happened. Ric died, and now we're dealing with Original!Ric. Which, of course, means he has to be put down - or sent away somehow. No more Alaric the history teacher and Damon's best friend. SAD! I liked that he and Damon got a chance to have a last moment together, though. :(

And, you know what, Bonnie, given that you and your little witchy family are now directly responsible for turning Ric into a monster, you can climb off that high horse of arrogance and pissyness - and take the stick out of your ass at the same time. You're just as culpable for turning good people bad as everyone else you lord it over.

Yeah, I wasn't very happy with Bonnie either, as you can tell.

RIP Ric. RIP Damon/Ric. *sniff*

omg, how many times is their mother gonna try to kill them and kida fail!?!??!
I don't know how to feel about Alaric transformation.... I honestly never doted on him. Who knows, maybe I'm gonna find him more interesting now in the role of the crazy vampire vampire-slayer? XD

Bonnie is unbearable, really. I don't feel any kind of pity for her. She is just always full of shit, and that even before her mother got turned.

And yeah Elena... always looking for Stefan when you need some cuddles ah? tse!

Oh and you know if Elena does not choose Damon(which is something I truly believe), I won't even care much because Damon deserves better than her. He just has to realize it.

SEE, now we are definitely on the same page? Haven't I been telling this for ages?! XD

Also, I hope you feel better today.
Also also..... I start to wish you happy birthday for tomorrow. I'll be back later on to wish you again! ;)

I don't know if Bonnie did that of her free will. I'm going to go with Esther controlling her, she seemed to be very out of it.. We'll see next episode I guess.

BUT I AM SO RAGING. I spent 20 minutes of that episode crying cause I basically was mourning Alaric (I know, but it's hormonally that time of the month and seriously I cry at everything..) then that ending I was so mad at them doing that... the kleenex got thrown at the tv screen. Last time I think I got this upset was Tara dying and Willow becoming Darth Willow on BtVS I think. Which means, yay, good tv.. but ARGH!!!! I don't want him to be the big bad!

Happy (belated) Birthday to Gaia!

Hope you're feeling better, hon :) That headache sounds awful and it's no way to celebrate special days!

All my love and best wishes to you all :)

aw hun, don't blame Bonnie - she was possessed by Esther! it's not really her fault! :(

you know if Elena does not choose Damon(which is something I truly believe), I won't even care much because Damon deserves better than her. He just has to realize it.
totally agree

overall i thought it was a good episode but the Damon-Elena-Stefan triangle is annoying me. i was very sad that Ric died - the writers slowly ruined his character and i am sad about that, but now they've just annihilated him by turning him in a new Mikael ;____; devastated about that. i mean seriously, can we just cut him some slack? hasn't he suffered enough already!?!?
