Is Ric starting to care about Damon again?... *sighs* Oh how I wish. Honestly, I was having a real hard time gauging what Ric was thinking.
People say that Damon is mean (and he is sometimes), but Klaus is 10000 worse than him. He doesn't have mercy and as much as I like him and Caroline, right now Caroline can't be with him. Klaus needs to start a healing process if he wants to have a chance with her. He needs to do what Damon has done and despite everything good Damon has done lately, he is still condidered the bad guy. So for Klaus it might take a while.
I don’t think Klaus can do what Damon has done however, in large part because he has never showed the same kind of empathy/humanity. And after a thousand years of ignoring and discarding humans as frail and weak I just don’t see him wanting to heal properly or change. Damon, on the other hand, is a whole other kettle of fish. As the episode 1912 showed, Damon didn’t start out the seductive, bad boy killer he was in S1 and was in fact very detached and hurt still. Sage opened his eyes to what he could do as a vampire and how he could live life to the ‘fullest’. Though her definition of the fullest was far from a good model for Damon to follow. And it makes me so sad that everyone seems to still see Damon as the bad guy. Why nobody realizes the re-emergence of bad guy Damon is just a defense is beyond me. Even without the complete picture, the MF gang should know him well enough by now to recognize it. Ric especially as he is an adult whereas everyone else is a teenager.
In regards to Finn/Sage, I was actually happy to see them united. :) While Finn wasn’t the most interesting character, I did find it interesting that a part of his martyr streak was because he believed Sage was gone/moved on. And he did not condone everything Sage had done in the 900 years they’d been apart. It didn’t seem to make him love her less though. Also considering how no one else in MF has had any luck on being a happy couple seeing Finn and Sage and their love gave me warm fuzzies! So Sage’s grief when Finn died made me feel sorry for her, more so than even any of the other Originals. Hee, and I loved her entrance at the boarding house “Ding dong” *punches Caroline, punches Stefan* Niiiice! Stefan you stupid boy....every time Damon is not around in a plan, the plan screws up big time. How could you be so naive to think that Klaus wouldn't have compelled Damon? THIS! *facepalm* I really didn’t understand why Stefan came in the way he did or said what he said. His negotiation skills continue to suck. Really, he needs lessons or something. Hee, maybe Crowley could give him a few tips! :P
