"I´m not going to damn this show with faint praise and call it an
uncomplicated hour of demon-hunting set to a soundtrack of brawny tunes. I´ve
said things like that in the past, and I feel as though that may have been
something of an injustice (if a very mild one, in the grand scheme of things).
Sure, it's not the most ambitious show ever, but it's satisfying and not
necessarily uncomplicated (though again, the mythology is not too daunting...
....Dean's belief that he is no hero -- despite all the good he and his
brother have tried to do -- is part of the reason he resists an idea that is
proposed to him by a new character who arrives at the end of Episode 1. The
idea is this: That Dean has been raised from Hell by a higher power. The
highest, in fact. And that entity has a special plan for Dean. Dun-dun-dun!"
