1. What's the quality you admire the most about your favourite guest star?
I really liked how Missouri and Bobby helped them. I'd like to see them both back.

2. Of the characters we've met, who do you think acts the most like a mother figure towards the boys?
Missouri, because even if she looked hard on Dean, she is probably the only one who knows what John and his sons have been through.
She was there when Mary died.

3.How do you think the lack of a permanent female presence in their lives has affected the brothers?
They were left alone. They hadn't a figure to balance their father's one. They needed to be reassured and comforted and they hadn't someone who did.
Maybe Dean did it for Sam, but it wasn't the same thing that having a mother. So I think the boys' lack of balance depends on Mary's absence.

4. Do you believe the different lighting cast on characters in this show is of any significance at all?
Interesting, but I think not. Probably they are using more dark lights on Dean in this season, to underline his confused state of mind. His dilemma. I don't think he will follow a dark path. I think he will be the one to save Sam and, talking about mithology, the world. From Sam or with Sam. I bet he will do with Sam, since the Demon won't win.

5. Recommend one or two fanfics in this fandom that you've really enjoyed.
Very difficult one, because there are so many I enjoyed. So rioght now I can't pick up, just one or two.

I agree with you in #4. Dean had a tremendous angst and cheated death, so darkness was more around him than Sam.

I totally agree with you on #4, Dean has been through a lot in this season he's feeling a lot of guilt plus the burden of the BIG SECRET he has to carry.

I've really been annoyed lately by people ranting about how Dean is not himself anymore, and how he's not joking and being with every women that comes near! I mean he just lost his father, feels guilty, confused, has a big damn secret and has to take care of Sam! man you cant expect him to find time for all of that PLUS women, he has more important things to worry about at the time, he has to sort things out, but some people just dont get that *screams*. END OF RANT.

Plus I totally agree with you, Dean is always himself, but come on, he wouldn't have been believable without this breakdown.

The funniest thing is that a lot of these fans, last season complained because they wanted him to break.

Now he does and they don't want. Wanna bet that if he wouldn't have done, they would have complain?

I totally agree with you in fact I made a big long post in my journal about it. I was so fed up with these fans saying exactly what you said. That Dean isn't himself and I don't like the dark Dean and he is totally just gun happy.

Which if they actually paid attention they would understand what he is going through.

Yes! he's got plenty of things in his mind he's confused about himself, the fact that his dad died, that John gave up his life for him, the big secret... oh and I almost forget they have a demon killing people and the posibility of something bad happening to Sam *facepalm* its not the time for him to be thinking about women and jokes.

You amek an excellent point about Dean not necessarily having anyone to comfort him or provide a soft place to land... That must have made him so aware of other people's pain... That combined woth JOhn's influence was what made Dean the "violent nurturer" we see now. He chooses action to provide comfort rather than emotional closeness... (See also Sun, Aeryn)
